The Lutherans and the Catholic Faith
The Lutherans, I think, give us a better model. On the one hand, they don't shy away from arguing about their differences. They're showing on point by point, our doctrine is not new. This is a very different theology of and disposition toward catholicity. For Jeremiah, unity with the Lutherans basically comes about if they become Eastern Orthodox. It's basically institutional incorporation into the Orthodox church. That's unity. The criterion for Christian unity is adherence to the gospel of Christ as held forth in the Scriptures.
