The heliosphere is a protective bubble that the solar wind propels out into space. Without it, we'd be exposed to intergalactic cosmic rays. Voyager probes have given us some insight into the edge of the helio sphere but there are some basic things we don't know at all. The data that voyager is able to collect and transmit back is pretty sparse.
