John Avlon: US security is so profound that almost any potential vacuums are immaterial. He says the United States because of our geography which leaves us not a world away but a couple of oceans away from most of the trouble that bothers us due to nuclear weapons and military might. "I think it's important now to say, look, we don't need to have whatever you think about a great power competition with China," he adds.
