Is Death the First Thing That We Can Approach in the Light?
Death can only be approached passively, which means to say, you don't actively reach out and approach death. The important point is that it's the first thing that we get that is truly other. Ironically, it's thi prospect of death and it's our inability to master it which is the beginning of our salvation. It is the start of our path out of solitude.
