The Voice in the Audio Book

When we were doing the audio short list for assembly, the voices that had originally been picked by the publisher were very, very young. They weren't at all like what you would expect the narrator of the bookt nd like. So i didn't feel it came from the character either. But they sounded like,. i think, the voice that we hear in our minds when we hear e young black woman - which is essentially what i am in this world. And actually, that audio process must have been a nightmare for you, because you had deliberately made this protagonist as pared back and blank as possible without ever losing the readerly interest. To have a voice to her is so specific
