The Importance of Specialization in the Human Brain
The brain is the most underdeveloped organ when we are born. After about the age of 10 or 11, it is optimally set up to specialize. So from the age of 11 to about 20, the neuron connections actually get cut. There's only window in our entire lifetimes from 11 to 20 when it is the biggest bang for the buck to specialize. That window basically closes for most humans without really now.
