The Cost of Copying Information
Information is fleeter of foot, so it's faster to spread than rumors. I'm guessing that more people look at information, know more, but understands less. Information wants to be free and expands to fill the available storage space. This was a huge problem in the early days of the internet with spam. To try and restrict speech is so nonsensical and self-defeating from a civilizational standpoint.
