How to Measure Your Pulse Oxygen Saturation
One thing that I've very occasionally seen is venous pulsation. If a patient has terrible tricuspid regurgitation and a really low systolic blood pressure, then the venous pulsations backwards from their heart can become the dominant factor in their pulse ox waveform. It's almost like just cardiac failure more than, you know, necessarily lung failure. So hopefully this problem will go away in the near future.
