The New Prime Minister's Plan to Address Backlogs and Blockages
The NHS is already shaping up to be a defining issue for the new Prime Minister. With ambulance time soaring and patients struggling to get appointments, there are fears of another major crisis this winter. She's turned to Torese Coffey, who's the new health secretary and her deputy, to put a plan together to tackle blockages. To boost capacity, we are accelerating our plans to roll out community diagnostic centres, as well as new hospitals. And we will maximise the use of the independent sector to provide even more treatment for patients.
