The preponderance of it leans toward you really shouldn't be getting back into the higher intensity exercise like running until you're closer to 12 weeks postpartum. I think that most women who have a pretty uneventful pregnancy and uneventful birth will probably be comfortable with light exercise within four to six weeks after giving birth. Some might need to wait a little bit longer some of it might depend on the sleep.
