What Does It Mean to Be Singaporean?
I find it dangerous when someone says that this language is because it is used by most people. It's not part of what our identity about being Singaporean is. And therefore, we should purge it from our national consciousness and, you know, basically alienates a whole group and generation as well. I don't feel it's a very wise move to go down that road where we say only if you speak this language, then you can pass the test to become a Singaporeaner. Yeah. That's reasonable. If they put out languages, here are the four languages we use here, Singapore, English, Chinese, Malay, if you demonstrate some kind of proficiency in any of these
