The New Testament Scholars Face a Terrible Problem

The New Testament scholars face or anybody who's just interested in Christian history is faced with a terrible problem. If you want to know what the early church was like number one you've got only Paul who's frankly kind of boring if you're not nerding out a middle-platonism. The gospels are literature being produced in a particular time and space it's just not a great way to retrieve the voices of the lost early Christians if that's what you're looking for.
