The Importance of Understanding the Legal Environment in Listed Equity

I've obviously been involved in quite a few markets over the years. One thing which is consistent throughout them is making sure that you have a good under if you're going to be an investor. This is more true for venture capital investors and debt investors than it is for listed equity. Listed equity nowadays, there are very few markets that have significant restrictions on the ability to move capital into and out of a country. It's also somewhat cheaper to raise the funding at the higher level than it is the smaller level.
