I just don't think it's empirically true that there are any significant number of animals in animal agriculture, at least as practiced in the US and like other major rich countries for whom that is true. Wild animals also suffer excessive heat, excessive cold, they run out of water, they starve of hunger. And then you might say, well, because of that, don't we want to perhaps create farms that are like less bad than the wilderness that would displace the wilderness? That might be an improvement. But even when you go through and do the maths on this in a very, perhaps some people would say grotesquely
