CHAPTER

Verificationism and the Only Circle

Verificationism has long and illustrious prehistory in philosophy. The vienna circle was a group of philosophers who made the principle famous. They came to think that maybe anything you could legitimately say without relying on empirical evidence would be demonstrable using new logic. It turns out that if you take this idea seriously it has very radical or far reaching claims for what can be done philosophically and what can't be well.
