Spending Now to Build Capacity

Am toh: If patient philanthropy involves merely saving the money in a bank account and waiting till later, it doesn't seem like a good strategy. Even if it turns out that this is not the most important century, i still think we need to be spending now to build capacity. We would have all the researchers already employed and ready to deploy the capital. So hopefully we still would be spending multiple hundreds of millions of dollars a year just preparing for the most important Century.
