What I Love About Teaching Abroad
I didn't really have this concept of Asia living in Europe and hearing from her set that dream in my mind because there weren't a lot of people where I grew up at all. In fact, she went abroad to Turkey in her high school year. So she had that dream because she was a reader and seeing her example lit that fire in me. And then when I finished university, I already had that dream. I wanted to go abroad. I applied to different teacher abroad programs and I considered Taiwan and Korea. But Japan is where I landed and I'm so happy. It changed my life. I thought I would go abroad for one or two years and now it's been 20.
