The Uncomfortable Question of Esau
If we understand this to be a statement about how God chose to select those he was going to bring his grand plan of salvation through, then it's not a problem at all to go there. It really does depend on, so there's a hermeneutical principle of play here. And so naturally there's going to be questions. Is there injustice on God's part that he would choose tobring the Messiah through a jerk like Jacob as opposed to a noble guy for the most part like Esau? By no means.
