Turtles evolved from land turtles, which we learned last week have shelled ancestors up to 260 million years old. Sea turtles branched off and adapted to live at sea around 150 million years ago. They survived the asteroid impact that latered the dinosaurs. From an evolutionary standpoint, they are toughest shit.
