Making New Friends in Your Thirties?

i'm planning to move to a new city to be closer to my romantic partner. Do you have any advice for making new friends in one's thirties outside of a shared work or academic context? I don't think that this is a something that is subjectable to an algarism, you know what i mean? You can certainly try harder or try less. Keep trying and keep putting yourself out there.
