Is Cold Therapy a Good Treatment for Mental Illnesses?

Cold therapy is to stimulate mitochondrial biogenesis. Mitochondria are the furnace of the human body, where heat is produced. When you expose yourself to extreme cold temperatures, your fat cells actually produce more mitochondria. And that helps them produce heat and turn something called white fat into beige fat - which is good for you.
