The Heart Sutra, Emptiness of Self-Essence
Mahayana Buddhism takes the original Buddhist observation of Shunya, empty of self-essence. The Heart Sutra says that because of emptiness, there is no form or no perceptions,. No eye, no mind consciousness, no path of practice. This may sound very negative as well as contrary to what is obviously true in our own direct experience. Our body exists, perceptions exist, the path exists, all that other stuff exists.
