The Art of La Chinoise
I think the thing he never really lost is how exciting it is to see a voracious mind at work. And i actually watched my first good art film in college, because i didn't arrive at college very cinema literate. It was this amazing demonstration of a theoretical idea, but using two gorgeous faces and using the language of desire and romance. I mean, t was so theoretically critically dense, and at the same time so sexy and so beautiful to look at. For me, it was this notion that cinema could do what criticism or writing can do, but with more tools at its disposal.
