The Role of Immune System in Sickness Behavior

The role of immune system is to recognize those microorganisms, both commensals and also those that invade us. And so there is a constant communication between the immune system and the brain. When we have a disease or a big infection, I think that is also communication to the brain and say, hey, shut down. We don't need you now to perform complex calculations because we are in a warm mode. That's why we have sickness behavior. We cannot think very well, brain is on the fog. But yeah, this kind of brain immune interaction. I mean, this is I think it's happening all the time.
