If i could choose between having everyone in the world be more psychologically informed or ending hunger, i would choose ending hunger. Even if you don't have that much agency to change late stage capitalism in the aggregate, on the other hand, you have a lot of agency and you can overcome the propaganda of defeat. The straw man argument here is very much framed as either or, right? You're either in the world or you're saving yourself. Choose. And no, it's not either or. We can do both. At any moment in time, we might see somebody who's more focused on one or the other. But ultimately, they're supportive of one another.
