The first topic that we wanted to talk about that's a major theme in the book is racism. Saeje: There should be a hundred words in our language for all the ways a black boy can lie awake at night. And I remember begging, begging, praying to God, begging him to like fix me for being gay,. or just like being treated differently because it might get like getting worse.
