The Importance of Universal Basic Services
There's a reason why the NHS in Britain is still around after eight years. It's because everybody gets to use it. So if you want welfare services, which address hardship and reduce inequality, make them universal. A UBI would be an extraordinary amount of money to spend - yet I don't see what it would do in terms of transitioning our economies away from fossil fuels.
