Truss's attempt to slash taxes for the rich caused the markets to collapse, and despite a humiliating u-turn on the 45p rate, the government is still set to cut taxes for big business while hacking away benefits for the struggling. It hasn't gone well - the Tories' polling has collapsed, and they're set, as things stand, for a devastating election defeat.
