The Basic Conditions of Mute Compulsion

Karl Marx was not an economist, but a critic of the entire enterprise. He tried to demonstrate how economic relations are social relations and in capitalism these relations are relations of domination or power. So instead of the economy being taken as a natural fact, it's shown to be historically produced by a collection of forms of domination.
