C e d is not perfectly well defined at high energies. You can cure that by embedding c e d in a bigger framework. So itis really not problematic at all. iad thought about quitting academia, but i'd not thought about quitting researcha research is the thing that makes me most intellectually engaged. And i have a million ideas of things i want to do research wise. The drive to do research is higher now than it was ten or 20 years ago.
