The Night Journey of Muhammad

Muhammad had contact with the supernatural, known to later generations as the night of power or destiny. In one version, an angel seen in the form of a man on the horizon, called to him to become the messenger of God. Muhammad continued to have revelations after this, which he wrote down and then later started to preach. His preaching was that of a monotheistic religion, which was not readily accepted by Mecca.
