The Exile of Ezekiel

Ezekiel is a prophet in the book of Ezekiel. He was deported from Jerusalem before it was destroyed by the Babylonians. The Assyrian Empire, which was dominant during the 8th century and early 7th century has been defeated by the Babylonian Empire. Judah needed to make some political decisions that would reflect some of its religious and also theological understandings of their place and God's place in the world.
