The recession hit and took all money out of publishers. The people who did those jobs all went into PR marketing. And any journalist who remained is making no money. You only stay around if you want to actually do it. I understand why people have an anxiety about games journalism because they think they had a reason to. But the perception is what matters. It's your function in your role to make that clear as annoying as it is.
