Nastic Responses to Stimuli
Nastic movements in contrast to tropisms are not oriented in the direction of a stimulus, but rather are fixed reflexes that are determined by the plant's anatomy. So for example, a Venus fly trap shows a nastic response. Another example of this would be trees seem to grow around power lines. And I think it's interesting to note that the stimulus direction dependent movements of plants tend to be very slow and based on growth.
