The Importance of Commentaries on Averuis's Commentaries

Of his line-by-line commentaries, we have only a tiny handful of Arabic manuscripts. This is eloquent proof of Averuis's failure to make an impact on his fellow Muslims. He was read for some generations in Arabic, but mostly by Jews. When they turned to using Hebrew as the favorite language of philosophy, there just wasn't anyone left who wanted to read the Arabic originals.
