Introduction
Justus lipsius was a central figure in the revival of stoic thought around the turn of the seventeenth century. He wrote several works that were central to this neo-stoic movement, including an introduction to the system. His work helped spread their ideas to such famous early modern thinkers as descotte, spinoza and malvranche.
