The author argues that the origins of mindful breathing are found in Jesus. Breathing is meant to remind us, oh, yeah, as I breathe, I am present with the Holy Spirit,. That's how Jesus breathed on his disciples to convey his ever-present presence. And so when we're practicing mindful breath, we're simply reminding ourselves in a bodily fashion.
