The DOJ's Ruling on the Right to Silence Speech
Judge Dowdy said the agencies could not flag specific posts to the social media platforms. The ruling said that the government could still notify the platforms about post detailing crimes, national security threats or foreign attempts to influence elections. He said the government's efforts to push back against disinformation campaigns related to COVID-19 were arguably the most massive attack against free speech in United States history.
