Why Do We Only See the Lighter Particles Now?

Back when the universe was young and hot, then there was enough energy density to create these particles all the time. But as the universe cooled down, it basically wasn't capable of making these particles on its own anymore. And so the only way you can make these heavy particles now is to artificially recreate those conditions by creating a dot of very high energy density.
