Is There a Cognitive Aspect in Greco-Roman Religion?

There's not the same degree of emphasis on cognitive belief in grecoroman religion. There are no creeds that would be confessed or anything like that. At the same time, you have to know something about the gods in order to be devoted to them. And so even if that's not always taught in formal sense, there is some degree of cognitive beliefand occasionally the language of belief is used.
