How to Create a Space for Actors to Do Their Work
I worked on a film once with two actresses that did it totally differently. One was good in the first two takes and then refused to do any more. The other was only good after about 12 in her mind. I thought she was good from first one, but in her mind, she was only good from take 12. So you have to judge, don't you? What actor requires from you and what kind of space they feel comfortable in? Like a certain actor would never want to relate to me behind the camera,. But another actor might always want feedback from an operator.
