How to Fly a Glider Over a Landing Zone

The way the RAF worked it, or the Glider pilot working it, was incredibly accurate. Colonel Chatterton developed a method after Sicily because he realized that you've been released all over the place. The gliders would fly into this invisible funnel and then follow it down into the landing zone. There were very few cases of the glided either releasing itself in the wrong place or not reaching the landing zone but they did it at night on a stopwatch with a compass map.
