The Importance of Behaviour in Animal Feeding
Andrea talked about how it's important to look at not just nutrition but behaviour when we're thinking about the welfare of animals. How important is behaviour and how can we help to ensure that we're actually meeting the behavioural needs of animals in the way that we feed them? Well I'll take it from the zoo standpoint I guess is that we're always thinking about there's the diet and then the presentation of the diet is going to be just as important as a diet itself. And with animals what we tend to find is that they like to have a challenge. So adding some challenge to that can improve their behaviour for the rest of the day, improve their kind of their well-being.
