Refined Carbs Increase Inflammation

For many people, oats can be the part of a very healthy diet. Refined carbohydrates do increase inflammation but humans have consumed high fibre on process carbs in the forms of tubers and different greens and grasses and fruits for millennia. But over the last hundred years or so, we've been stripping these down and making them higher and higher glycemic because we remove a lot of that good fibre. So what happens is this, it's just easier to spike blood sugar. And when you're constantly spiking your blood sugar, you're going to have more of an inflammatory base response. Don't drink alcohol the night before you do your blood work, because you see higher levels of inflammation.
