The Saddam Myth

Saddam's family was very, very poor. His hometown of Al-Aja was a very violent place. One version of the Saddam myth says that his mother told him his destiny was as a farmer and she wouldn't let him go to school. The other kids in town mocked him for not having a dad. So he started carrying an iron bar as a weapon.
