The Importance of Electrical Signals in Tissue Engineering
The author was an electrical engineer coming out of undergrad and worked as a software programmer for a telecom company. After 9-11 happened, he got a little bored and started taking classes at the local community college in anatomy and physiology. He then applied to the bioelectrical engineering track at MIT and got in for a PhD program. And so it's at MIT that you sort of discover this emerging field of tissue engineering.
