The Importance of Narrative in Film
Spike Lee is more narrative than David Lynch. He told the straight story, which is like him kind of thumbing his nose at me. And I don't love Sophia Coppola for the same reason. There's got to be a narrative structure here that's going to pay off. It's just like more more vibes and mystery. That ending that film lesson learned? I only remember a witch. Beautiful.
