I think that's a common confusion that people fall into. I have to be ashamed for being white and make all these apologies and amends to indigenous or minorities. No, it can be both. Like I can be proud of just being who I am and still be deeply sensitive and thoughtful about how I am approaching the experiences of the indigenous in this country. He says he wants to benefit from the wisdom and traditions of the peoples who are indigenous to this land.
