Bush's Memics - The First Hypetex
In the 19 fifties, douglas engelebert was inspired to build a system of links. He called this imaginary machine the memics, combining together the words memory and extender. Bush's memics inspire generations of computer scientists to pursue that holy grail of preserved and interlinked knowledge. But yeh, he'd have to wait another decade until the memics started coming to life.
