When I started consent culture, it was a criticism in some ways and a love letter to the BDSM community. It is about how when you enter a BDSM space, racism is still a thing. Fat phobia is still a things. None of that goes away because you're in an alternative space. You have to consciously decide that that is something you are going to tackle within that community. That was an area that I saw the BDSM world not really doing their due diligence. And so I wanted to say, why is that? And how can we, rather than shaming them and being like, "You're all doing this bad, rapey stuff," let people feel more heard
